LIMS (Liquid silicone rubber Injection Molding System)

  • The name "LIMS" describes a molding system in which liquid silicone rubber is used in high-precision injection molding machines. All steps are automated, from mixing to molding. This system saves labor and time, and makes it easy to produce high-quality molded items.

Addition-cure liquid silicone is used, so cure speed is fast and molding time can be reduced.

The materials are liquids, so molding can be done at low injection pressures. The system is also suitable for molding of high-precision components.

Suitable for flashless, runnerless molding. And because molded items release easily from the mold after curing, the molding process can be automated.

  • Environmentally friendly

There are no byproducts generated during curing. With flashless and runnerless molding, there is no need to process waste material, meaning a more environmentally friendly manufacturing process.


LIMS Self-adhesives

Shin-Etsu Self-adhesive Liquid Silicone bonds well to a variety of plastics, including the following:

  • Polycarbonate (PC)
  • Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)
  • Polyphenylene oxide (PPO)
  • Polyamide resins (Nylon 66, Nylon 6)

The adhesion obtained with each of these resins has proven resistant to degradation under a wide range of temperatures and humidity. All provide outstanding, durable adhesion to most resins. Our offerings also include products that meet FDA, BfR, and USP class 6 requirements, or contain low levels of low-molecular-weight (LMW) siloxanes.
